Cleaning plastic containers can be a difficult task, but there are some basic kitchen products that can be used to clean your plastic containers and give them shine as if they were brand new.

The smell of old food in plastic containers often makes them unusable, Before you throw away that old plastic food box, try to remove the smell using these methods -

Rub the container thoroughly using clean tap water and sniff it to see if there is an odor.If the smell still persists, place your container with cicadas newspaper and close the lid tightly. Keep the container for a few days, allowing the paper to absorb the rest of the odor.Open the container after a few days and then wash it with dish soap and water.

Many times, due to being closed for too long, the stench starts to smell out of the plastic compartments. To overcome this, add 5 teaspoons of baking soda to a bucket of hot water and put a plastic container in it. After a while, removing them and cleaning them removes the smell.

Coffee can also be used to remove the smell of cans. For this, keep the coffee powder in a box and leave it in the container for some time.If you want, you can also mix coffee in water and put it in a box.

Avoid closing your plastic food containers with air tight lids. Allow the container to dry completely by keeping it upside down for a few minutes or keeping it in the sun.Vegetable stains often remain in plastic containers that are not well cleaned in one go.For this, chlorine bleach can be used. Soak the stained compartments in the bleach mixture for a while and then wash off with soap. This will clear the stains. Keep the vinegar in the box for about half an hour to an hour. Vinegar is a disinfectant and can kill germs that breed on old food, producing edible odors. At the end of half an hour or hour, lift the lid and pour the vinegar out. Vigorously rub the container with a sponge or a slightly abrasive cleaning brush to rinse the final food residue. Avoid rubbing the container too hard as it can scrape the plastic.
